Edgemead/Monte Vista Library delivering service through on-going maintenance

Edgemead/Monte Vista Library will be hosting craft sessions for the June/ July holiday on Thursday 7 and 14 July at 10:00am.

With the visit of Afrikaans thriller author, Martin Steyn,  on 29 June, library will be launching an Afrikaans book club.  Anyone wishing to know more about the club can contact the library.

Edgemead/Monte Vista Library are collecting soft toys to hand over to children in hospital for Mandela day on 18 July. Should anybody still have unwanted soft toys lying around they are asked to please take them to the library.

The Library also wants to remind their patrons that they are still delivering a service even though they will be closed for a few weeks. They are currently running from Ward Councillor Carstens’ office and the veranda. Principal Librarian Lorraine Mathewson said that the staff are quite willing to respond to specific telephonic request for books and will man the telephone inside the library as they will still continue administrative tasks as well as moving furniture around to give the workers access to work spaces.

The library are quite willing to visit crèches, pre-schools and groups of children who are in day care facilities for story times and library orientation, should it be impossible to visit the library.
