The Bothasig Library hosted a Holiday Programme during the June school holidays in partnership with the Department of Social Development and the City of Cape Town.
Storytelling, arts and crafts, movies and fun and games were all part of the activities that were organised for children from Bothasig and the surrounding areas. The aim of the programme was to equip children with useful life skills which they were taught through the fun and games relating to everyday activities.
The programme was well attended and Ward Councillor Helen Carstens took time out of her busy schedule to visit and say hi to the kids. She was very impressed with the turn out as well as the content of the programme which taught the children valuable life skills. “It is wonderful to see the participation of the children in this programme which provides so much more than fun and games,” said Cllr Carstens, “and I would like to commend the staff from the Department of Social Development for the well-presented activities and lessons that they put forward.”
